The Windelo team wanted to design a yacht that you could live with every day even when you are many nautical miles from land. The key to this was to provide a feeling of both space and light in the ultimate open plan package. The key behind creating a feeling of space was to eliminate the barriers between indoor and outdoor space, thereby creating a huge living area. To do this, the portholes and gunwale openings have been cleverly designed to subtly blend the line between where indoor ends and outdoor begins while also letting in masses of natural light.

All the Windelo catamarans are recognizable by their impeccably designed slim well-balanced hull, designed by Christophe Barreau and Frédéric Neuman to enhance performance and seaworthiness. Built for the pleasure of sailing and exploring, they permit a better performance than other catamarans of this size.

Inside/Outside Modular Thinking
Make the most of the sea! In keeping with Windelo’s guiding philosophy, the architects Christophe Barreau and Frédéric Neuman have achieved the impossible thanks to the clever use of lifting partitions. Windelo and its architects invented a cockpit living space combined with a helm station, opening fully onto the sea. This ground-breaking solution offers extensive living space in a well-contained nacelle, making life onboard and sailing an experience to remember.
Forward Cockpit
The Windelo team was determined to think outside of the box when it came to even the most basic concepts and the introduction of a forward cockpit revolutionises the way in which you handle a multihull; providing a clear vision of both the hulls for mooring, the sails above for trimming and the horizon itself for dreaming. The revolutionary forward cockpit is the key to an easy handling ethos. This is the real game changer when it comes to multihull design. Placed at the foot of the mast, the forward cockpit means that you have unobstructed views of what is ahead of you while also benefitting from excellent levels of protection from the elements.
Electric Hybrid Drive Systems
Thanks to Windelo’s electric hybrid drive systems, you will be navigating silently even when using the engine. No more exhaust fumes and vibrations – sailing is now a really pleasurable clean, environmentally-friendly experience.
Windelo catamarans are available with Electric Propulsion or Dual Propulsion versions — two high-performance systems that combine power, autonomy, and environmental responsibility.
Recycled and Bio-sourced Materials
Sustainability is one of the watchwords of Windelo and we have taken an uncompromising and innovative approach to construction in order to achieve this. Our groundbreaking use of sustainable volcanic basalt and PET – made from recycled bottles of plastic in the hull construction – puts Windelo at the forefront of the green revolution.

Green Energies
Building a boat that works in harmony with nature lies at the heart of the Windelo concept. To achieve this an electric motor is essential – yet it is also vital to have a good cruising range. With green energy – hydro-generation, solar panels, wind turbines – and generators the Windelo can cruise more than 1100 miles at 6kn under power.
Boat Management System
A catamaran is both a way to travel and a place to live at sea, fitted with lots of technical, electrical and electronic installations that produce and consume energy.
To improve your comfort aboard and make life easier, Windelo and its partners connected all the installations on board. They communicate with one another through a user interface providing an accurate reading of energy production and consumption on board, in addition to the status of each item of equipment.
